Climbing and Summits
Mount Pico, at 2,351 m the highest point in Portugal, is a roughly 4 to 8 hour round-trip walk needing registration; Sao Jorge's Pico da Esperanca and Faial's Caldeira offer lower options. Technical rock climbing is marginal.
